Going Full Swing In Work and Life: Meet Montana Lyons
Montana Lyons brings energy, curiosity, and care to everything she does, and it shows in the way she connects with people.
Her path to Red Wing is rooted in experience- both in and outside of work.
Growing up in a family of 14, Montana learned early how to communicate, adapt, and show up for others. Today, that same mindset carries into her role, and into her life as a proud “bonus parent.” Outside of work, she channels her creativity through photography, a passion that started by capturing moments at her stepson’s soccer games and has grown into something more.
Professionally, Montana spent more than six years in banking, building a strong foundation in customer service, problem-solving, and supporting people through complex situations. As she explored her next step, she recognized that those skills could translate into new environments and new types of work.
“I saw the role and wondered, am I qualified for this? I finally decided I was and decided to apply.”
What stood out wasn’t a lack of experience; it was how much of her background aligned in ways she hadn’t fully recognized yet. Her ability to connect with people, solve problems, and adapt quickly made her a strong fit from day one.
How She Makes an Impact
Montana describes her approach simply: when she commits to something, she goes “full swing.”
That mindset carries into her role supporting employee engagement across multiple locations. Whether she’s launching new ways for employees to share feedback, planning recognition programs, or helping teams stay connected, she focuses on creating an environment where people feel supported and connected.
Her ability to listen, pivot, and respond in the moment is core to her impact- skills built over time through both her career and her personal experiences.
Montana's impact is felt across the organization. As Zack Christman, Director of Operations, shared, "I've worked with a lot of great employees throughout my career, and I've found that those who make the greatest impact are the ones who never stop learning. They work hard, stay curious, and are always willing to step outside their comfort zone to take on something new. Montana is one of those employees.”
What Sets Red Wing Apart
For Montana, the difference is clear.
“I’ve never seen a company give so much care toward their employees… they value their people.”
That care shows up in everyday moments: how teams support one another, how ideas are heard, and how people are encouraged to grow.
“Everybody here knows we can’t continue without each other. We’re one team.”
It’s an environment where people step in to help, contribute their ideas, and take ownership of their work.
“Don’t be afraid to give your input. Here, it’s respected.”
A Mindset for Growth
Montana’s journey is a reminder that growth isn’t about checking every box; it’s about recognizing the value of your experiences and putting them into action.
By leaning into her transferable skills and committing fully to new opportunities, she’s built a role where she can continue to learn, contribute, and make an impact.
Her advice is simple:
“Never doubt yourself. You’ve got it.”
“Be okay putting yourself out there.”
“Have faith in yourself.”
Because when you trust what you already bring to the table and go “full swing” into what’s next, you create opportunities to grow in ways you didn’t see coming.
