Vasque accepts time disconnected from phones as currency for their products

We all love our devices – they allow us to explore worlds we’d never see otherwise, learn things we never thought possible, and connect with people far away. But we believe that always being connected is draining and the best way to find reprieve from our screens is to connect with the world outside. Because nothing has the power to brighten our days, uplift our moods, and refresh our days quite like the touch of sunlight on our faces.

The average American spends 7 hours per day on screens – with Log Outside, we’re out to change that. On March 18th, we set up at Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado, and we didn’t tell a soul we’d be there.

The offer was simple, part with your device for your hike, let us safely store it for you, and when you return, you’ll have a new pair of boots.

All in, we empowered 300 hours of disconnected time outside in a single day - and we're confident this is the beginning of millions more hours into the future.

While this was a huge success for the Vasque brand, nothing can quite compare to the way it impacted those who participated in the event.

"I hadn't hiked without my phone in over 19 years and wow, that was refreshing."

"My kids were shocked by how engaged I was during the hike without my phone."

"This project allowed many local folks to obtain their first pair of proper hiking boots - you're making going outside possible with this."

"I cannot believe you're going this far to drive home such a cool idea - I've never seen a company put their words into action like this."
